Prior to this newly created position Glyn was the Section Manager for Biocontrol & Biosecurity at AgResearch.
Glyn gained extensive research experience in soil and water quality under arable and pastoral production systems during his employment with MAF and Crop & Food Research and joined AgResearch in 2008.
Glyn has a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Warwick University and a PhD in Soil Science from Lincoln College.
Bram joined AgResearch in 2010, from his role as Operational Manager of the Soil Science Centre of the Environmental Sciences Group (ESG) of Wageningen University and Research Centre.
His scientific work has focussed on water flow and nutrient transport in soils, and involved field experiments and simulation modelling, including applied research for Water Boards and Regional Councils.
As Team Leader for the Nutrient Management Team of Alterra in Wageningen, Bram’s team was successful in helping farmers and the government to reduce the nitrate loads on groundwater.
Bram studied Applied Physics at the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.
Anette led the AgResearch Bioinformatics, Mathematics & Statistics section from 2007 to 2011, and now leads the Animal Productivity group. Prior to this she was a Senior Scientist of Bioinformatics at AgResearch.
After postdoctoral work at the University of St Andrews, Anette moved in bioinformatics and later managed the Oxford University Bioinformatics Centre.
Anette has a BA (Hons) in Zoology, and a DPhil in Molecular Ecology from the University of Oxford.
Jolon leads the Food & Bio-based Products group at AgResearch.
He also holds adjunct positions as a Senior Fellow at the University of Canterbury in their Biomolecular Interaction Centre, and is an Associate Professor at Lincoln University in their Wine and Food Molecular Biosciences Department.
His team at AgResearch have achieved significant national and international recognition including the AWI Award for Scientific Achievement and AWI-DWI Excellence in Wool Science Personal Award in 2005, the NZIAHS Significant Science Award in 2008, and the American Society of Photobiology New Investigator Award in 2010.
Jolon has a BSc (Hons) 1st Class, Chemistry and a PhD, Chemistry from the University of Canterbury.
Shane Devlin has been with AgResearch since 2008, working in the Business team with the Agriculture & Environment group.
Shane has worked closely with our Farm Systems, Animal Welfare, Resource Economics and Social Research teams.
Prior to joining AgResearch Shane spent 16 years in the Rural Finance sector in the Waikato region, working with Dairy farmers in the Waikato, and has interests in a dairy farming business.
Shane has a B.Ag (Rural Valuation) from Massey University.
Nick began his career with AgResearch in 2005 as a Business Development Manager, working with both the Agricultural Systems and Biocontrol & Biosecurity sections.
As a BDM Nick was responsible for development of new R&D contracts, and commercialisation of new technologies that were developed within AgResearch. Nick has also been customer manager for a number of key customers, including Landcorp Farming Ltd.
Prior to joining AgResearch, Nick worked in a range of roles in the agricultural sector including farm management consultancy in the lower North Island, agbio consultancy with AbacusBio and agritech manufacturing with Tru-Test.
Nick has a M.Ag.Sc (Hons) 1st Class in Farm Management from Massey University.
Jason joined AgResearch in 2002 and was Team Leader of Farm Systems from 2007 to 2011.
Jason has worked for NSW Agriculture, and was Programme Leader within the Australian CRC for Beef Quality.
Jason’s R&D experience has covered a number of applied animal production areas, spanning genetics, nutrition and management of deer, beef cattle and sheep, and analysis of farm systems.
Jason has a B.Ag.Sc (Hons) and PhD from University of Adelaide, and a Graduate Certificate in Management from the University of New England.
Liz is an Eminent Scientist with 28 years of experience in sustainable agriculture in science and research leadership positions within AgResearch.
Liz has designed and lead trans-disciplinary teams focused on land and water quality, resource use efficiency, and rural futures.
Liz’s experience is recognised with invitations to participate on advisory panels, industry and policy forum, and international review panels.
Liz has a BSc (Hons) in Plant Ecology from Paisley, and a PhD in Biology from Glasgow University.
Tanira started with AgResearch in 2010 as a Science Advisor responsible for developing and implementing AgResearch’s Māori Strategy.
He has a background in agricultural systems analysis and was a member of the Agricultural Systems Management group at Massey University from 1995 to 2010. Tanira has extensive experience in New Zealand’s primary industry sectors including forestry, kiwifruit and agricultural consultancy.
Tanira has a BBS in Agribusiness, a M.App.Sc(Hons) in Agricultural Systems from Massey University, and a PhD in Agricultural Economics and Development from the Australian National University.
