Cor's research interests include the systematics and taxonomy of spiders (the New Zealand fauna) using both molecular and morphological techniques; biosecurity, especially spiders; the molecular biology and systematics of Microctonus spp. (Hymenoptera); conservation of New Zealand terrestrial arthropods and spider ecology.
His current projects include and analysis of traits of invasive spiders and weevils, PCR analyses of gut contents of pasture arthropods, and the systematics of New Zealand spiders.
