Altering animal waste composition
A treatment substance that can affect the conversion of nitrogen in animal waste, once the waste has been excreted from the animal.
Background
Major environmental issue of nitrogen containing components being lost from agricultural land to waterways – a problem highly prevalent in regions involved with intensive farming.
Invention
To introduce to an animal a treatment substance that can affect the conversion of nitrogen containing compounds in animal waste, once the waste is excreted from the animal. The treatment substance contains a nitrification inhibitor. The substance may be introduced to the animal via a slow release device.
