The AgResearch Environmental Footprinting Centre (EFC) helps dairy, sheep, beef deer, dairy goat, arable and horticultural farmers, businesses and regional councils understand nutrient flows and losses. The Centre provides expert guidance on making the best use of nutrients to give high production with low emissions.

The Environmental Footprinting Centre's experienced and higly trained advisors have an intimate understanding of thw hole farm system. They are experts in using leading-edge tools such as OVERSEER and FARMAX Pro to design and audit sustainable farm systems based on:

• Nutrient management plans
• Whole farm plans
• Effluent management plans
• Carbon footprints
• Water footprints

The Centre's advisors can develop and analyse mitigation options for nutrient and greenhouse gas losses for dairy, sheep, beef, deer, dairy goat, arable and horticultural systems, including the economic implications for the business. The Centre also underpins AgResearch research projects in these areas.
