AgResearch Meat Industry Workshop 2015

The “Meating The Future” Workshop held on March 18 was the biggest in the workshops 11 year history.

Facilitator, Brian Dingwall of BCD Consulting Ltd introduced AgResearch’s Research Director , Warren McNabb, to open the workshop and introduce the Keynote Speaker, Dr Scott Champion, CEO of Beef + Lamb New Zealand. Scott considered the need to balance on and off farm meat research for the future, which provided a great foundation for the sessions that followed.

Each of the three themed sessions discussed thought provoking topics and concluded with an interactive audience discussion panel led by the presenters.

The final act of the day was recognition of two retiring long time meat industry personalities. Peter Dobbie (AgResearch) and Grant Pearson (Silver Fern Farms) were each presented with plaques and recognised for their work for meat research in New Zealand.
