Nutrient budget reports

Example Outputs

This page illustrates a typical nutrient budget, and 2 reports that the OVERSEER® nutrient budget model derives from these budgets.

The nutrient budget report is a tabulation of inputs and outputs.

From these nutrient budgets, the model produces a series of reports that help in the interpretation of the nutrient budgets. These include reports for N, P, greenhouse gases, energy, and maintenance nutrient recommendations. The N, P, greenhouse gases and energy reports can also show the effect of different mitigation scenarios have had.

For example, in the report below, the user can assess the effect of reducing N fertiliser by 50% (including management changes that such a reduction is likely to result in) or to use a pad + 5 hour grazing over winter on indices elated to nitrogen.

In this example for this farm, either option resulted in a similar reduction in the amount of N leached. Note that the relative results vary greatly from farm to farm.

With a click of the button, a greenhouse gas inventory report can also be shown for the same scenarios.
