Qualifications

I have a B.Sc. in Chemistry and undertook masters and Ph.D. in Chemometrics. I carried out my Post-Doc on the development of spectroscopic methods for on-line measurement and joint AgResearch in 2007 as Senior scientist.

Research interests & activities

My research area is Chemometrics applied to food science and analysis biological data. It includes the development of non-invasive methods (e.g. Near InfraRed Spectroscopy – NIRS, Hyperspectral imaging, Raman) applied to food and the development of methods for analysis of biological data including data integration from different omics platforms. Currently I’m caring out research on authentication and assurance of food (meat and dairy products)  and development of non-invasive technologies as proxy for genetic improvement studies.
