The Soils, Land Use and Global Change team combines empirical research and systems modelling to understand the interaction between land management practises and global change drivers (CO2, temperature, rainfall) and their impact on both pastoral production and environmental quality. Current research covers greenhouse gas impacts and mitigation, modelling adaptation to global change drivers, modelling nutrient dynamics and losses in pastoral systems, improvement of soil quality and physical stability, analysis of the ecosystem services provided by agricultural soils and regional scale modelling of the rural sector.
