Industry Training & Education

AgResearch is a highly-respected, accredited provider of education and training services to the New Zealand wool and textile industries.

Registered with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), our unique training services are also available to international partners and clients.

AgResearch’s research and development focus ensures the content of our training programmes are relevant and up-to-date. You can choose to learn in a variety of ways:

Distance learning:

We offer more than 30 study packages, each one associated with a specific unit standard on the NZQA framework.

General areas available include textile fibres, wool measurement and marketing systems, wool scouring, yarn manufacture, carpet manufacture and performance, fabric formation (knitting, weaving, nonwovens), textile quality (yarns, fabrics, carpets), textile dyeing, printing and finishing, and textile calculations.

Block courses:

When enough trainees want to study the same set of topics, we run block courses of up to four days duration.

Customised courses:

We provide short courses and seminars across a wide range of themes, with programmes customised to the specific requirements of an individual company or an industry group.

Full course notes, teas and lunches are provided, plus we can arrange hostel accommodation when courses are held at AgResearch Lincoln.

See the Education & Training brochure for further information.
