I came to New Zealand in 1996 from Florida USA, bringing a background in human nutrition and toxicology, and maybe some naïvety about the influence and opportunities of pastoral agriculture. Since then, AgResearch has provided a home for my interests in all those areas. I lead public and private research programmes that range from farm to fork, concerned with improving the health of the livestock we raise and adding nutritional and economic value to products derived from their meat and milk.
