I grew up on dairy farms across the Waikato before moving to Kirikiriroa (Hamilton) to study at the University of Waikato. My research explores insect–plant interactions, with a particular focus on the role of Epichloë endophytes in grasses. More recently, I have been investigating potential future forage options and ‘sleeper pests’—insects already established in Aotearoa New Zealand that are likely to become more significant under climate change.
