He uri ahau nō Ngāti Porou, ko Waipaina Awarau tāku ignoa. Raised in Waipiro Bay, I am a botanist trained in Queensland and seed preservation at the Millennium Seed Bank (UK). My mahi supports community-led biosecurity responses. I advocate for hapū-led kaitiekitanga, recognising that lasting, effective solutions lie in the knowledge, leadership, and resilience of our own communities.
