On my father's side Ngāpuhi and Irish descent. My mother's side is from England and Germany. I grew up exploring the Hauraki Gulf/Tīkapa Moana.
I studied microbial biotechnology at Massey University. After my PhD, I worked for a start-up and completed a post-doc at Victoria University of Wellington.
I enjoy mountain biking in the Tararua Ranges and am currently interested in applying the toolkit of precision fermentation to manufacturing dairy proteins and peptides.
