Microbial communities are everywhere and play vital roles in agriculture, health, and the environment. As a Senior Scientist in the Rumen Microbiology team, the main threads of my research are aimed at understanding diverse microbial ecosystems in nature and specifically in gut environments. Understanding these forces enables us to identify new strategies for enhancing plant, soil and animal productivity coupled with a reduced environmental footprint to feed a growing global population.
