Known for my pioneering and successful biological control work of exotic pests in NZ’s unique pastures. Here I conducted research into insect pest population behaviour, seasonality, and damage thresholds. This contributed significantly to biocontrol theory internationally. Further work included testing the potential of sensor technology to detect unwanted organisms in sea containers. I have also contributed to several Crown advisory committees, often working with ministers.
