Stewart Collie

I lead the Bioproduct and Fibre Technology science team and my research focuses on sustainability aspects of wool and bio-based materials, especially in-use and at end-of-life.

I studied Textile Technology at the University of New South Wales, then a PhD in Chemistry with Massey University. I then spent three years working on smart textiles in the United Kingdom.

I’m an avid bike commuter and mountain biker. This has shown me how great wool is for activewear, especially in tough conditions!
