Alicia Barnett

Specialist in mammalian cell culture, generating novel intestinal cell models, from three dimensional organoids to two dimensional, flat cultures. Models are complex due to the presence of multiple types of cells representative of the epithelial lineage from stem cells through to differentiated enterocytes, goblet and enteroendocrine cells. Models are used to study interactions between microbial components, external antigens, or dietary factors and the host.
