I earned my PhD in Developmental Neurobiology at the University of Heidelberg, and Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden, Germany. Since then, I specialised in molecular embryology, stem cells and genetic engineering with the aim to benefit animal breeding and human therapy. I am an Adjunct and Honorary Associate Professor at University of Waikato and Auckland, respectively.
