My main areas of research include grassland ecology and soil science in the context of pastoral systems which must operate to achieve multiple sustainability goals.
I started out with an Agricultural Science degree from Massey University in 1989 got my PhD in rangeland ecology from Colorado State University in 1997. I have worked for MAFTech and AgResearch for 33 years, beginning at the Whatawhata Research Centre and then based at Ruakura and latterly Grasslands for the last 15 years.
