Originally training and working as a primary school teacher, somehow I found myself as a research technician at the University of Otago Medical School, and have stayed in laboratories ever since. I’ve been working for AgResearch for longer than I care to say, in the parentage testing and DNA profiling arena, following the changes in technology from protein electrophoresis through to DNA sequencing. I am married, with two grown-up children. I am keen on outdoor pursuits, and also sing in a choir.
