I studied Agriculture at the University of Plymouth, UK before heading north to study Quantitative Genetics at the University of Edinburgh. I had hands on experience milking cows for 7 years, and a year in Zambia hand milking, growing maize and tobacco before I moved indoors, and have spent 20 years researching livestock genomics at the Roslin Institute and here at AgResearch. I am passionate about improving profitability and sustainability of global livestock systems using genomic technology.
