Cattle Genotyping

SNP profiles are obtained via a low density bovine SNP chip that includes the 200 SNPS from ISAG parentage panel as well as specific genetic defects and production traits currently under validation.

Currently, GenomNZ offers the following gene tests:

• Polled testing
• Myostatin NT821 mutation
• Coat colour
• Mannosidosis Galloway
• Mannosidosis Angus

The cattle XT Plus assay includes:

• Parentage assignment
• Report of single gene tests
• Client ownership of the SNP genotypes
• The genotypes made available to your provider of choice for genomic selection
• Storage of DNA for 18 months (long-term storage option also available)
• Database storage of genotypes
